All Grove families must join the Grove Community to ensure they receive all general school updates and messages. Other communities can be joined as relevant to your child's activities.

About The Grove Community
In January 2023 The Grove Primary adopted WhatsApp Communities as the principal method of serving school-related information to families.
What are WhatsApp Communities?
Communities is a WhatsApp feature designed for groups of people, like schools.
Communities contain Groups, which community members may find useful to join. These Groups function exactly like normal WhatsApp groups. A special Communities-tab on WhatsApp organises messages and groups within a community.

The Grove Community
All members of the Grove's community, staff and families alike, are encouraged to join the Grove Community. Joining a WhatsApp Community does not make your name or mobile number visible to other community members.
Members can
Receive messages from the school, via the Grove Community Announcement Group.
View and join relevant school WhatsApp Groups, eg Classroom groups.
Leave and re-join the Announcement Group, the Community, or both, as per their requirements.
Members cannot
See details of other community members.
Reply to messages.
Post new messages.

How to join: QR Codes are displayed on the school campus, and at Reception. Alternatively, follow this link: https://chat.whatsapp.com/ByCLIUuxED00GBkrlsjLaW
The Announcement Group is used for: Messages and updates from the school.
Privacy: Community member names and numbers are not displayed. Members cannot send or reply to posts.
Classroom Groups
Classroom Groups are pre-set up within the Grove Community. We expect at least one adult (but not limited to one) to join the classroom group of each learner.
How to join:
On WhatsApp, go to Grove Community
View 'Groups you can join'
Select the class/es of your Grovite/s.
Alternatively ask your Class Teacher or Class Link to send you a link.
The Classroom Groups are used for: Class-specific messages by Class Links on behalf of the Class Teachers.
Privacy: As for normal WhatsApp groups, group member numbers are visible to other members. Only join Class Groups if you are comfortable sharing your details with other group members. Classroom groups are set to "Admin Send Only", from February 2024.
Separate Communities are created for non-Academic disciplines, e.g. Sport and Music.
How to join a COMMUNITY
From a phone:
Click on the "Join Community" button above. WhatsApp will open, and you can select "Join Community".
From a computer:
Click to open the How to Join-page, where QR codes for each Community is displayed. Open WhatsApp on your phone. Using the camera function. scan the QR-code of every community you would like to join.
How to join a GROUP
Once you have joined a community, you can see all its groups.
To join a group, select it and send a request to the Group Admin, to let you in.
Most, but not all, groups are admin-send-only.
