Testimonials for the new website 😍

What is this all about?

The Grove is building a new website. One purpose of the website is to help parents and guardians decide if The Grove is the right school for their children. Another purpose of the website is to help teachers decide if they want to work at The Grove. So if you have something nice to say about the school, this is your chance.

When I think of one word that describes The Grove, it is ‘nourishing’; the school nourishes young hearts and minds, encouraging each child along their own path. My first daughter suggested ‘home’ because The Grove community feels like a warm family. ‘Fun’ said her sister, due to the many special activities and dress-up days that charge imaginations, sparking joy and laughter.

From the first moment I stepped foot in the Grove Primary School it felt like an inclusive space where everyone, each child, each member of staff, is known and valued and loved. Now 4 kids later, I can honestly say that the Grove is not just a school, it is a community where children, and their families, find a safe space to grow and develop and flourish. My children have all struggled with learning challenges and yet they have always been celebrated and affirmed for being themselves. As a mom, I have experienced incredible support and guidance, especially in those moments when I have felt overwhelmed and uncertain. Grove has been a home for us, somewhere where we have discovered the joy of learning, grown friendships, learnt to be the very best version of ourselves and where there has always been someone to lovingly pick us up when we've fallen down.

The Grove is not a school: it's a community. Every person working at the Grove is passionate about and dedicated to being invested members of this community. From the first time Mr Moses greeted our daughter by name to the countless nights the teaching staff have stayed after hours to coach us as caregivers, the Grove community has demonstrated that it's invested in supporting every child that attends this school in being the most excellent version of themselves. The teaching methods are innovative and tailored to individual children as far as possible. The values espoused are based in the beauty of South Africa's constitution. The skills children are encouraged to develop are crucial for the unknown futures they will face, and include resilience and critical thinking. The opportunities for parents to be involved in the education of their children are endless and diverse. This is a school for people who want to be involved in building a bright future for their children, and who recognise that this future can only work if we build it together, as a community. We are grateful and proud to be part of the Grove community.
