The Culture and Arts Departments are a valued part of life at The Grove, and we’re proud to offer a wide range of extra-mural cultural activities for our learners to choose from. These include Lit Quiz, General Knowledge, Debating Club, Latin and Ballroom Dance, Interact Society, Drama, Art, and Music. Something for every interest and personality. Art and Music are also offered as part of the CAPS curriculum under the banner of Creative Arts.
All of our cultural clubs are run by Grove teachers and are offered free of charge to the learners, except for Art club, which requires a fee to cover the Art supplies used. Each club has its own focus and expectations, as well as a limited number of spaces. Sign-ups usually happen at the start of the academic year and once a club reaches capacity, any additional learners will be placed on a waiting list. The club director will get in touch with parents and/or open up the sign-up sheet should a vacancy arise over the course of the year.
Some clubs require an audition or selection process, while others are open to any learner who signs up within the advertised time frame. Information about the specifications for each club will be posted on the club’s page as well as on the sign-up form.
You can find more information about each of these cultural clubs by clicking on the buttons on this page. We encourage parents to chat with their children about the options available and to support them in choosing activities they’ll enjoy and feel excited about being part of.
