Birthday Buddies
Parents can still sign up this term. If you miss out on a spot, there’ll be an opportunity again next year
Whose initiative was this?
We would like to recognize Abi Daubenton, one of our parents, for coming up with this wonderful initiative called "Birthday Buddies". Abi had the great idea of getting parents to organize birthday celebrations for support staff at the school. The purpose behind Birthday Buddies is to show appreciation for the hardworking support staff members who often go unrecognized.
Celebrating Mr Wedel
Anna Grimsrud was the Birthday Buddy for Mr Wedel. Anna organised a surprise flash-mob soccer match with staff and parents during break-time and was watched by many Grove learners.
Mr Wedel is one of the most dedicated coaches at the school. He is always putting in extra hours to help our children improve their soccer skills, and Anna wanted to do something special for his birthday. The flash-mob soccer match was a great way to surprise him and show our appreciation for all his hard work.
Celebrating Kim McBain
We are delighted to share with you a heartwarming gesture made by one of our parents, Sue Jack, who recently put together a beautiful handmade card with chocolates to celebrate the birthday of Kim McBain, who is in charge of fees at The Grove Primary. Sue wanted to show her appreciation for all the hard work that Kim does behind the scenes to keep our school running smoothly. Kim was thrilled to receive the surprise gift, and we are grateful to Sue for taking the time to show her kindness and gratitude. It is always inspiring to see the spirit of community and generosity that exists among our parents, and we hope this small act of kindness will inspire others to show appreciation for the hardworking staff members who keep our school running smoothly.
Celebrating Mrs Pettit
We would like to give a big shout-out to Jo Stocks, one of our parents, who organized a heartwarming surprise for Mrs Pettit, our school librarian, on her birthday. Jo created a custom-made postbox and encouraged all the students to write a note of appreciation for Mrs Pettit and drop it in the postbox. The students had a lot of fun creating their notes and expressing their gratitude for all that Mrs Pettit does for our school. Mrs Pettit was touched by the thoughtful gesture and felt appreciated by the learners. We are grateful to Jo for organizing this initiative and for inspiring our students to show kindness and appreciation to those around them.
Celebrating Moses
One of our parents, Shenaaz Raiman, deserves a special shout-out for organizing a surprise celebration on the birthday of Moses, our school security guard. Shenaaz decorated the school gate with balloons and presented Moses with a delicious cake to show her appreciation for all that he does to keep our school safe. Moses was touched by the thoughtful gesture and felt appreciated by the school community. It is always inspiring to see parents going the extra mile to show kindness and gratitude towards our hardworking staff members. We are grateful to Shenaaz for her initiative and for inspiring us to show appreciation to those who make a difference in our school community.
Celebrating Lindi Mani
We are pleased to share with you a heartwarming gesture made by Paula Boulle, one of our parents, who recently organized a special surprise for Lindi Mani, one of our valued general assistants at the school, on her birthday. Paula put together a thoughtful gift for Lindi to show her appreciation for all the hard work that she does behind the scenes to keep our school running smoothly. Lindi was deeply touched by the gesture and felt appreciated by the school community. It is always inspiring to see parents showing kindness and gratitude towards our hardworking staff members, and we are grateful to Paula for her initiative and for inspiring us to show appreciation to those who make a difference in our school community.
